With a massive season finale celebration on May 21, Survivor 48 officially ended after yet another run of episodes!
Knowing that there would be two more eliminations before the jury decided who would win the season, we knew going into the finale that it would be a very exciting show. Each of the last five contestants had a route to the last 3, and some of those routes just so happened to be easier than others, so as the commercials hinted, the victory might truly belong to anyone. We anticipated a fast-paced game after Shauhin's shocking blindside, and our instinct proved right.
After Shauhin was eliminated, Kyle and Kamilla were elated since their strategy had succeeded and it was getting much simpler for them to get to the Final 4. There was hardly much time for rejoicing. The team discovered a set of five podiums with a puzzle lock the morning following the Tribal Council. In the immunity challenge, the first player to solve the puzzle and obtain the key concealed inside would win.
Every player rushed off to try to crack the code and unlock the puzzle box in order to secure the edge because advantages like these may make or break the game thus late on. Although it was a close race, Eva ultimately won the Final 5 challenge advantage immunity.
We immediately launched into the immunity challenge after that! The participants would have to climb and descend a steep ramp first, then navigate a cage, throw a ball at a target, then pass through a muddy net. They would then throw it into a basket, exposing numerals that would be used to open a key. They would then use the key to release the parts for a survivor fire puzzle after racing up a ramp. What about the edge Eva gained? She saves time in the challenge by being able to skip throwing the ball through the target and put it directly into the basket to earn her numbers at the halfway point.
Eva and Kamilla took a dominant lead in assembling Joe's puzzle, even though he was able to get to his parts first. Even though Kamilla advanced to the competition's puzzle stage last, she won immunity and dominated the challenge, securing her spot in the Final 4 with her second immunity victory! She also invited Eva to spend an afternoon with her at the sanctuary after winning a trip there for some last-minute fuel.

Mitch placed fifth after being voted out first.
From then, things start to pick up speed. Mitch suggests to Kyle that they try to take on Joe, but Kyle needs to determine who is more dangerous, Mitch or Joe. Meanwhile, Kamilla must make the difficult choice of whether to pursue Joe, Mitch, or her longtime comrade, Kyle. Upon meeting, Kamilla and Kyle appear to agree that it might be better to get Mitch out, and we have a suspicion that this is how the vote will actually proceed.
Unbelievably, Kamilla tells Mitch about her scheme, and Eva, Joe, and Kyle ultimately inform Mitch that they will also be voting him out, which naturally upsets him.
The writing was on the wall going into Tribal Council. Even before nightfall, the tribe had made up its mind to vote Mitch out. They followed through on their plan, as Mitch joined the Survivor 48 jury as the seventh member. This was hinted at in the final promo, where Mitch entered behind Shauhin.
After Mitch was eliminated, we had two strong pairs: Joe and Eva, and Kyle and Kamillia. The final immunity challenge is a crucial step in deciding who could advance to the Final 3, and as Kyle stated best, any member of the group could win the game. In addition to guaranteeing their placement in the Final 3, winning that last immunity challenge also enables them to choose a companion, with the fire challenge deciding the third and final position.

Kyle qualified for the Final 3 after winning the last immunity challenge.
It's interesting to note that Kamilla tells Kyle that she believes her best chance of winning is to remove Kyle from the game after Eva agreed to accompany her to the final. She informs him that she will send Kyle and Joe to the fire challenge if she prevails. There's a significant chance that pair won't make it to the Final Three since he understands that sending her to the jury is his best option.
Simmotion, a traditional Survivor competition, is the last immunity test. The Survivor Wiki's rules are broken down as follows:
Each castaway is required to drop a ball into a metal chute while holding a bound hand behind their back. A turnstile gate in the center of the track forces the balls to emerge at opposite exits, thus the ball will go down a spiraling metal track and escape out of one of two places. The ball must be caught by the castaway, who must then drop it back into the chute at the top. Until the maximum number of balls are in play at once, one more ball is added to the track at predetermined intervals. The castaway is removed from the challenge if a ball leaves the track and is never caught. Whoever is left standing wins.
Eva was the first to lose the tournament, while Kamilla was the second. As a result, Kyle and Joe engaged in a fierce struggle for the final immunity, but Kyle ultimately prevailed. He was able to choose who would compete in the fire challenge and guarantee his spot in the Final 3.

Kamilla joins the jury as its last member.
Now that he has authority, Kyle chooses to keep his word to Joe and advance him to the Final 3. Thus, in order to guarantee their spot in the Final 3, Eva and Kamilla will compete in the fire challenge. Eva starts to lose her mind while trying to start a fire, but Joe saves the day by helping her center herself and showing her how to start a fire.
Kyle affirms at Tribal Council that he will be sending Eva and Kamilla to the fire challenge and that he intends to bring Joe along to the Final 3. Jeff announces the start of the fire-making competition after giving everyone a minute to calm down and focus. It's impossible to predict how this will turn out.
As Kamilla tries to find a spark to light her flame, Eva takes the lead during the challenge. Eva's fire gradually wanes and she starts to panic, but Joe is able to calm her down, which gives her the opportunity to bounce back and get one step closer to victory.
Before Kamilla could even get a flame started, Eva had already secured her spot in the Final 3 by winning the fire competition. This guaranteed Eva's spot in the Final 3 and made Kamilla the last juror.

The winner of Survivor 48 is Kyle Fraser.
The jury vote was crucial as Eva emerged victorious from the fire challenge! As usual, the jury had the opportunity to question the final participants about their performance, and to be honest, no single individual stood out from the others by a significant amount.
Eva, Joe, and Kyle all gave quite convincing responses to the jury's questioning, and the three of them managed to take them by surprise in a number of ways. Since he didn't have as many secrets to reveal as Kyle and Eva, Joe seemed to make the weakest pitch of the three. Nevertheless, he stood alone, making it difficult to predict the jury's verdict.
It was time for the jury to cast its votes after fervent closing remarks.
We were assured that each player would receive one vote prior to the vote reveal, with Cedrek casting a ballot for Joe, Mary for Eva, and Kamilla for Kyle. This implies that every player in the Final 3 would receive a vote!
Joe received the first vote, Eva received the second, and Kyle received the third. We were deadlocked 1-1-1 as a result. Eva received the fourth vote, while Kyle received the fifth. Then, Kyle received the sixth vote, bringing the total to 3-2-1. Kyle also received the seventh vote, making him the Survivor 48 victor! How did the final votes turn out, then? Joe only cast one vote for Cedrek. Mary and Star cast their votes for Eva. This indicates that Chrissy, David, Mitch, Shauhin, and Kamilla, as well as the rest of the jury, all voted for Kyle.
