Taco Night Popcorn: A fun, low-sugar twist on Taco Tuesday. Try this crunchy snack tonight!

Yields: 4 servings | Prep Time: 5 minutes | Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 8 cups popcorn (from about ¼ cup unpopped kernels)
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup crushed Doritos (preferably Nacho Cheese, or any favorite flavor)
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • Juice of 1 lime

Instructions

Step 1: Pop & Prep

  • Using your chosen technique—air-popped, stovetop, or microwave—make roughly eight cups of popcorn.
  • In a little basin or saucepan, melt the butter.

Step 2: Popcorn Seasoning

  • Toss the warm popcorn with the melted butter in a big bowl until evenly coated.

Step 3: Flavor is added

  • Add lime juice, chopped cilantro, and smashed Doritos.
  • Mix all components until well blended.

TIPS
  • Crush the Doritos in a food processor or inside a zipped bag with a rolling pin for optimal results. A fine crumb will help it stick better.
  • Butter makes the Dorito crumbs stick; don't skip it!
  • For variation, sample Cool Ranch or Spicy Sweet Chili among other Doritos tastes.
