[Recipes] No Bake Energy Bites: Chocolate Oatmeal Balls

A small bowl filled with round chocolate oatmeal energy bites, dark brown and textured with oats and chia seeds, set on a rustic wooden table with scattered cocoa powder and oats around, warm natural light casting soft shadows, cozy kitchen atmosphere, close-up shot

Hands-On Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes (with chilling)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup peanut butter (or almond butter)
  • ⅓ cup honey or maple syrup
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup ground flaxseed or chia seeds
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions:

Step 1 – Combine the Ingredients

In a large bowl, stir together oats, cocoa powder, flaxseed, and salt. Add peanut butter, honey, and vanilla extract. Mix well until everything sticks together evenly. Fold in chocolate chips if using.

Step 2 – Form the Balls

Use your hands or a small cookie scoop to roll the mixture into bite-sized balls (about 1 inch). Place them on a parchment-lined tray.

Step 3 – Chill and Set

Refrigerate the energy bites for at least 20 minutes to help them firm up.

Step 4 – Store and Enjoy

Transfer to an airtight container and keep in the fridge for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months.

TIPS
  • Add a dash of espresso powder for a mocha twist.
  • For extra crunch, mix in chopped nuts or toasted coconut flakes.
  • Great as a pre-workout snack, afternoon pick-me-up, or healthier dessert.
